When should I start applying for a new teaching job?

I am planning to move to a neighboring school district next year. I’d like to teach elementary school there, but I plan to continue teaching at my current school until the end of the year. When should I start applying for other teaching jobs? And should I tell my current school that I’m planning to leave first? Any advice?

In our area, they start hiring as early as late February. I don’t recommend telling your employer until you have accepted another position. You should notify them as quickly as possible and not past July–so they have time to hire someone.

Most School Districts start evaluating around February or March I would go and inquire next month. Dont tell your current boss though.

My advice look for job also you have already put in your letter of schools dont tell them first you have already put in your mind about moving.
