I will be teaching an elementary class next year with kids with special needs, (autism, down syndrom, MR, etc..) We had a meeting today about a good book or anything that can help teach these types of children basic writing skills. Not handwriting, actual sentences. Does anyone have any suggestions on a good thing for this? Thank you for your help!

My mother is currently in Africa teaching english at an orphanage that has no books, materials, electricity etc. Does anyone know any good games she could play with the kids or any activities they could do? (She has a computer that she can print things out on back at her house).

My sister is graduation college this year and I plan on getting her a huge amount of teaching supplies. She will be teaching at the elementary level but she is unsure of what grade level. I was just wondering what type of supplies you need the first year of teaching. If you would like to include grade level specific things that be great too.

My friend has sent in a lot of emails applying for jobs teaching math and science, secondary level and hasnt received any replies. Whats up with that? He has 20 years experience teaching high school and wants to move to Mexico, buy a sail boat and start to enjoy his life a little more – Jobs are advertised on the internet, but its seems as if they are not real jobs ! Ideas anyone?
