This is my first year teaching and I have signed a contract to teach for one year in Williamsburg County, South Carolina. Teachers in the county start back on Tuesday and I have family issues I really need to attend to at home in Florida. Is there a possibility of legal repercussions if I do not fufill my contract? Or will I just most likely not be able to teach in the state of South Carolina? Please help.
The contract does not state the repercussions of not fufilling the contract or any circumstances in which it can be broken.

I only ask because I want to be a psychologist for maybe 10 or 15 years and then eventually retire and teach… May sound stupid but that would be an ideal retirement for me.
I could go back and get a masters in teaching. But I didn’t want to have to go back and do the entire teaching course over again. Is there anyway I could start now and then get my masters later?
